Song in a Week was a brilliant 4 day project to initiate MUTM members into the art of song writing leading to the eventual creation of their own full length musical.

MUTM were pleased to welcome back Aled Pedrick and Meilir Rhys Williams after their collaboration on the successful MUTM production of ‘A Queer Christmas’. The talented and experienced music theatre professionals mentored the MUTM fledgling composers through the song writing process, producing a song reflecting the passions and interests of the young composers. The young people recorded their newly written song at Bridgerow Studios, Brynamman.

The next project to follow will be ‘Film in a week’ scheduled for the 3^rd & 4^th and 17^th & 18^th of October, where the young people will devise a film in response to the song created.

The skills learnt from both projects will be utilised to create an original musical to be written and performed by the MUTM young people. All three projects harness the multi-talents, enthusiasm and energy and joy the MUTM young people bring to the creative arts.
