Strangers 2 – Click Documentary

CLICK is a theatrical project about communications across the internet, social boundaries, relationships and trust. The production tackles hard hitting issues including those of young carers, youth sexuality, teenage pregnancy, homophobia, and identity with an in your face humour that youth audiences will respect.

This documentary explores the development, behind the scenes, staging and tour of the production. CLICK is a collaborative theatrical production by Mess Up the Mess, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Australian Theatre for Young People, and Inspired Productions. With a cast and crew that compromises young people led by industry professionals, CLICK first toured in Wales September 2011.

23 Jan- Street Show in Hong Kong

Last Sunday Hong Kong’s Strangers have their street show performance at Youth Square, Chai Wan. Here’s the video of our rehearsal, and some performance videos.

Although we are using Cantonese to perform our show but you can also try to find out what you want to express or what you think about it. I still discovering to use the YouTube subtitle system and there will have English subtitles once we take over this problem.

This Saturday we will have workshops with Sarah again and I hope we will have a good day and Skype with Australia’s teens.

Character Development

After two character workshops and a lot of brainpower, we’ve finally come up with two characters that will hopefully either be in, or provide inspiration for the Strangers 2 project. They now have facebook profiles which are great! Lawrence Thistleton-Blake and Alexandria Jones are our creations! I can’t wait to see where they go from here and how the play will develop. Skyping Hong Kong Saturday is going to be amazing!! Stranger to myself

A piece about the stranger you are to yourself…

Yesterday I was small, my sleeves weren’t rolled, my buttons done up, my skirt 8 checks. I was ready to learn, to listen.

Today I’m taller, my sleeves are rolled, top buttons undone, my skirt has shrunk to 4 checks. I get distracted, I give up.

Tomorrow I’m stronger, uniform has changed. I work to earn my own keep. I’m the one telling, other are listening.
