Strangers 2 – Click Documentary

CLICK is a theatrical project about communications across the internet, social boundaries, relationships and trust. The production tackles hard hitting issues including those of young carers, youth sexuality, teenage pregnancy, homophobia, and identity with an in your face humour that youth audiences will respect.

This documentary explores the development, behind the scenes, staging and tour of the production. CLICK is a collaborative theatrical production by Mess Up the Mess, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Australian Theatre for Young People, and Inspired Productions. With a cast and crew that compromises young people led by industry professionals, CLICK first toured in Wales September 2011.

23 Jan- Street Show in Hong Kong

Last Sunday Hong Kong’s Strangers have their street show performance at Youth Square, Chai Wan. Here’s the video of our rehearsal, and some performance videos.

Although we are using Cantonese to perform our show but you can also try to find out what you want to express or what you think about it. I still discovering to use the YouTube subtitle system and there will have English subtitles once we take over this problem.

This Saturday we will have workshops with Sarah again and I hope we will have a good day and Skype with Australia’s teens.

Music Mayhem at The Miners Theatre

Standing outside Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts it was hard to picture what the first workshops here in Wales on the Strangers project would be like!

The music week has led to 2 ideas for songs that our writer Dafydd James is keen to leave to breathe and would like to come back to when we are closer to a completed script. When we were in Hong Kong we came up with the idea of creating music based on our cultural musical heritage and in Wales that led us to explore choirs, folk music and rock. It was a chaotic week with a diverse group of young people but a you can see from the footage we had a lot of fun! Check out the footage below!
