YFORY – THE SHARING’S

Yfory Sharing Events

We would like to invite you to some amazing sharing’s coming up VERY SOON; as part of the end of Year 3 Yfory project funded by the National Lottery Fund. We have been working with 3 amazing groups of young people over the last 9 months with a big question to answer “What would you like to nurture for today or change; for young peoples futures.”  Below is the fantastic result to that question:
Dreamers Project – Oasis Cardiff. This Saturday is the sharing of Ingredients For Tomorrow film.  The Dreamers want to nurture and embrace their culture through food for their future! Saturday 29th June 4.00-5.30pm at Oasis Centre in Cardiff. Come and learn more about the young people cherished recipes and culture; created with Lead Artist Allie from Yellobrick, Youth Arts Worker Llyr Williams, filmmaker Callum Bruce-Phillips and chef Oliver Wood. You will even get to sample the food created in the film.

The young people have created a performance aiming to increase young people’s wellbeing, improve their futures, and build community cohesion. Sunday 7th July 4-5pm in Brynamman Public Hall Cinema. Created with Artistic Director Sarah Jones, physical theatre artist Llyr Williams, writer Hefin Robinson and designer Menna Buss.
Roots Foundation – Swansea. You know my story but not my life  is a rap and spoken word film exploring what it is like to be in care. “Why have I had 6 social workers in 2 years… you think that’s a lot, I have had 20”. What number is too many? The young people recognise that the social work team are stretched thin, but the constant new faces of social workers are affecting their experience in care. The young people want more consistency and for other young people to not feel given up on again. Thursday 11th July 5.30-6.30pm in The Studio, Swansea City Centre. Created with Youth Arts Worker Jo Shackley, Rap artist and Film Maker Sheldon The Rapper from Beat techniques, designer Seren Noel and Youth Arts Worker Cassidy Smith.
