Peer Leader is a free accredited residential training course that offers young people aged 16-25 opportunities to develop their skills, increase their confidence and gain volunteering experience. The training usually takes place in October Half Term.
The training is run through a fun participatory residential course which includes theatre games and team building challenges.
During the residential we support young people to be trained in:
- leadership and being an exemplary role model to your peers
- communication skills, confidence and team work
- health and safety
- risk assessments
- child protection
- diversity and inclusion
During the weekend young people have the opportunity to plan, run and evaluate a youth issue workshop as a youth team to their peers.
And also to achieve Agored Level 1 qualifications in Peer Education
Finally…
They will become qualified Peer Leader Volunteer and have a stronger role within the company and community through a wide range on volunteering opportunities.
